EL-Foil (electroluminescent foil) consists of two conducting layers (electrodes). In between, the electroluminescent material is located. The front electrode is made of a thin, transparent and conductive layer. The back electrode out of a refelective, conductive layer. The advantage is the total thickness of the foil. It is less than 1 mm. Because of the alternating field and the required high voltage, an inverter lends itself to operate the EL-Foil.
